Alone Organisation - Mobile Phones for Older People
The ALONE Organisation have received mobile phones for distribution to older people. They are seeking links into communities to identify any older people who may need a phone. The contact person for more details is Tracey Reddy. Her email is tracey.reddy@alone.ie
The team can be contacted on a dedicated community support helpline at 1800-222-226 which is running from 8am-8pm seven days a week. Contact can also be made by emailing covidsupport@corkcity.ie.
The core aim of this forum is contributing to the community-wide effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 by ensuring a coordinated community response. Cork City Council’s COVID-19 Community Response Forum will work to ensure that local resources - including social care support and social contact – are targeted at the people who need them most.
A nominated person (temporary agent) can be nominated to collect the payment on their behalf. This will be important for older people who may not be in a position to collect their pensions as well as people who are immune suppressed or have other underlying health conditions and are in receipt of social welfare payments.
Please see the ‘Appointment of Temp Agent An Post’ form
Customers who wish to avail of this service are advised to complete the “BOI Cocooning Support” form which is available on the Covid-19 Customer Hub at www.bankofireland.com/
