The Homework Club has been running since 2006. We provide 28 places (1st to 6th class) from Monday to Thursday afternoons, 2:45 to 4pm during the normal school year. The club is volunteer led and gives support to young people in maths, English and Irish. We aim to create an environment that makes young people want to learn and support each other in this.
The Parent/Toddler is a volunteer group creating a safe environment for parents/carers to come together over a cuppa while the young children play.
Each Tuesday morning 10am to 11:30am. No booking required.
As the need arises we provide support just for Mams and Dads parenting programme in conjunction with Tusla.
NEW Just for Mams Wellbeing Programme
Starting Wednesday 1st May for 6 weeks 9:30 to 11:30 @ the Ballincollig Family Resource Centre.
This programme offers a space for Mams to come and talk about how it is to be a mam and the difficulties it involves at times. This is not a parenting programme, no pressure to speak, no homework! And it's FREE.
Contact BFRC Reception if you are interested to take part. (see sidebar)
Using the Tusla early intervention national practice model we work with individual children, their parents, schools, youth services, family resource centre staff, medical practitioners, and other parties with an interest in the child’s life, supporting them in their daily needs and developing their strengths. Examples of the challenges and issues that Meitheal can help with include:
The Family Meitheal is a Creative Community Service that BFRC supports.
